Open applications for a unit and review applicants

Control application intake and record human decisions without automatically screening or creating access.

For: Agents & developers, Landlords2 min readReviewed

Before you start

  • You need the relevant managed unit and authority to handle applicants' information. Check account and workspace editing access.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open the unit's Applications settings and choose whether to accept new applications.
  2. If appropriate, link your eligible public rental listing or copy the unit's application link.
  3. Share that link with intended applicants, who apply through their own signed-in accounts.
  4. Open the application queue and review each applicant's submitted fields and current status.
  5. Record the appropriate manual status, note or decline reason through the available controls.
  6. If an accepted application leads to a tenancy, use the distinct Record a tenancy action and verify the unit, dates and terms before saving.

Workspace links may ask you to sign in. Access depends on your role, plan and the records shared with you.

Acceptance has a limited effect

The application process does not automatically perform identity or credit screening, collect application fees, issue an agreement or activate a tenant portal. The agent is responsible for the decision and any further lawful checks.

Private review notes belong in the agent-only note field. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information in an applicant-visible explanation.

Troubleshooting

The application link no longer accepts submissions
Check whether applications were closed, the listing became ineligible or the unit's setup changed. Existing applications and new intake are different states.
