Keep landlords, tenants and applicants in People

Link a private contact to business records without creating an account or granting portal access.

For: Agents & developers, Landlords2 min readReviewed

Before you start

  • Have a lawful reason to store the contact details. A person can have more than one role in your private register.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Property Manager and the People section.
  2. Search before adding a new contact, using name or the available role filters to reduce accidental duplicates.
  3. Add the person's actual name and appropriate contact fields and roles.
  4. Use the provided import or linking controls for landlord and tenant details already recorded in your portfolio.
  5. Open the person's detail to review linked properties, tenancies or applications.
  6. Edit or unlink the contact through the allowed controls, and check the underlying record if a historical name needs separate correction.

Workspace links may ask you to sign in. Access depends on your role, plan and the records shared with you.

A person is not an account

Adding a contact does not register a login, send an invitation or activate a tenant/landlord portal. Use the separate invitation and confirmation flow for access.

A record can preserve the tenant or landlord details it originally recorded. Linking or editing a contact does not silently rewrite the names on old tenancies, payments or receipts.

Troubleshooting

A person appears with an old name on a receipt
Check the recorded transaction and tenancy facts. A People edit is not a correction to a posted financial record.
