Give the viewing a clear brief
Send the agent your questions before the call. Ask for a continuous walkthrough from the entrance through the property, including the areas that photographs leave out. Confirm the unit and the person conducting the viewing.
If possible, appoint a trusted independent person to attend. A video call can help compare suitability, but it cannot substitute for every physical or professional inspection.
Ask for context
Request a view of access routes, parking and shared spaces. Ask the presenter to show room proportions and any defects you have asked about. Confirm which furnishings and appliances belong to the property.
Keep decisions separate
Make a record of what was demonstrated, what was only described and what still needs checking. Ask for the cost breakdown and proposed terms after the call. Resolve unanswered questions with the appropriate professional before making a commitment.
