Manage two-step sign-in and account security

Use the security controls for email or authenticator verification and end sessions you no longer trust.

For: Everyone2 min readReviewed

Before you start

  • Sign into your own account and keep access to the email address or authenticator you intend to use.

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Open Settings, then Security.
  2. Review the available two-step methods. Follow the email-code or authenticator setup shown on the screen.
  3. Complete the confirmation step before treating the method as enabled. Installing an authenticator alone does not finish setup.
  4. Use the password-confirmed control if you need to disable a method. Keep your account email and device secure.
  5. If you suspect another session, use the available sign-out-of-all-devices control and update the password.
  6. If you cannot complete your enabled challenge, contact support from the account email and describe the problem without sending live codes.

Workspace links may ask you to sign in. Access depends on your role, plan and the records shared with you.

Two-step sign-in is optional

You are not required to enable a method merely to browse or register. Once enabled, however, the challenge is part of signing into that account.

Account security and optional listing analytics are separate. Refusing analytics does not turn off essential authentication or security logging.

Troubleshooting

My authenticator code is rejected
Use the correct account entry and a current code. Check the device clock and avoid reusing a code that has rolled over.
